Junior Wildcat Cheer 2016-17
Jr. Wildcats Cheer is a cheerleading program for 5th through 8th graders who reside within the boundaries of the Eureka High School Attendance Zone. The program is not affiliated with the Rockwood School District, Eureka High School, EHS Cheer, LaSalle Springs Middle School or Wildwood Middle School. It does, however, cooperate with EHS Cheer in an effort to provide the best cheer training possible and prepare those wishing to continue cheer at the high school level.
The 5th grade cheer team is initially formed through a lottery system in the early spring of the applicants 4th grade year. After that, applicants are placed on a waiting list for the following season. In grades 6-8, openings on the team are filled from the waiting list on a first come, first serve basis. If there are more applicants on the waiting list than openings, the remaining applicants on the wait list will be wait listed for the following season. The maximum number of cheerleaders on any team may not exceed 30. However, coaches may choose to limit the team to less the 30 cheerleaders based on the number of coaches, safety of the team, and other considerations in the best interest of the team. The deadline to apply for the 6th-8th grade wait list for the upcoming season is March 1 of that year. After March 1, new applicants will be placed on the waiting list for the following season.
